Meet The Twins At The New York Auto Show – The 1,000-HP Trans Am 455 Super Duty Is Standing Next To The ‘Demon’

In other words – the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is not the only maniacal muscle car on show this week. The Demon is probably the most interesting ride at the show, but it’s definitely not the only muscle car worthy of attention. We are going to present you another 1000 horsepower mean machine. Meet the Dodge Demon’s brother from another mother – 1,000-HP Trans Am 455 Super Duty. This one muscles into New York, as well. If you are not aware, Trans Am Worldwide is a boutique carmaker and it has building rides for a few years now. This specific car, 455 Super Duty, is the first to be built on the sixth-generation Camaro‚Äôs new Alpha chassis.

This is going to be just amazing. The name for this one comes from the 455 cubic inch powerplant under the hood. Simple as that. Under the hood we will find a 7.4-liter V8 engine putting down 1,000 horsepower and 1,046 lb-ft of torque. These are some interesting performance numbers. The 2017 Trans Am 455 Super Duty pushes 14 pounds of boost from the 2.3-liter Magnussen supercharger. According to the specifications, the number is just 0.5 PSI less than the demonic Demon. We could say that their performance numbers are very close to each other. But what’s more interesting about these two muscle cars?

The Trans Am production is going to be limited to only 50 units and the production is set to start on May 1. Basically, this is the sad part here – it’s not going to be a production car.
