Callaway’s Corvette C7 GT3-R Is The Ultimate Track Beast

Callaway are pleased to announce their next creation – Chevrolet Corvette C7 GT3-R. It took the Corvette specialist at Callaway two years to develop this unique ride. This one is actually the carbon fiber-tastic successor to the C6 Z06.R GT3. The car is designed to meet all GT3 class and FIA rules and regulations which means that it is a track ready super car. It’s all about power to weight ratio here. Under the hood we have the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. The guys managed to squeeze 600 horsepower from this beast.

All the power is transmitted to the wheels via an X-Trac six-speed sequential transmission featuring paddle shifters. We don’t know the real performance numbers as the guys are still hiding this information from us. The car looks very light and as we could see much of the redesigned body is made of lightweight carbon fiber. It looks mean, it looks powerful and it will be in production in the beginning of 2016. The car is totally redesigned – it features new flared front and rear wheel arches, a huge rear wing, side exhausts and many others.

When you look at the photos you know that this is the meanest looking racecar out on the market. Callaway is a company that builds amazing Corvettes and we all know that. But every time they still surpise us with their next super Vette. This track-built beast is ready to set some lap records. Better put on some pampers and plug your ears before taking a ride with this monster. It’s a super Vette in a carbon-fiber suit. That’s the ultimate body-kit that the team managed to fit on the latest Corvette.

The new Corvette C7 is an amazing car, but this thing here is the only way you could make this car cooler that it is. The company who built this track beast constructs GT race cars since 1990. The fact that they picked up the latest Corvette means that it was already a mean machine. The designer of this FIA GT3-approved ready-to-race C7 GT3-R is the Canadian designer Paul Deutschman. This guy is responsible for a lot of great-looking rides. Buckle up and prepare for a real race.
