Go Big Or Go Home – Nitrous Explosion Destroyed 2.000 HP Engine With A Large Fireball
Diesel engines are much more powerful than most of the guys really know. Most of these ‘professional’ guys even don’t understand that. It’s all about the compression. In this article we are going to see how to destroy a 2,000 horsepower engine in one second. It didn’t happened on a runaway, there were a couple of 10.xx 1/4 mile runs and then Shawn Baca put his Silver Pearl on the dyno. In the beginning he did multiple 1,400hp runs. If you wonder what was his goal – 2,000 horsepower. The driver fell victim of a cracked block. In this case it was all about the competition.
There has always been a competition between guys like Shawn. All they want is a guy who could bigger. In this case it was go big, or go home! It was a dyno run weekend and the goal was 2,000 horsepower. Shawn knew that he got a problem with his block so he filled it with cement. In addition, he put another set of injectors in and the biggest turbo he found. In the video on our next page you will witness Shawn’s 3rd attempt. The critical point was when he was already at 4600RPMS and hit the big stage of NOS. The result was a huge fireball.
If you watch the video you will see another guy – Dmitri Millard (operating the dyno). He was telling Shawn more RPMs and more boost before hitting the big stage.
