Meet The Sleepbus – A Luxury Bus That Will Take You From LA to SF While You Sleep for $48
This is a whole new startup for sleepy drivers. Yes, that’s right. If you can’t make it from Los Angeles to San Francisco at night, this service is for you. The right place to have some sleep, eat, use the onboard Wi-Fi and much more. To all sleepy drivers out there who have to travel between LA and SF – thanks to this startup you could snooze while a professional driver gets you safely to the desired destination overnight. The company is founded by two guys – Tom Currier and Jonathan Tyler. They named theie startup simply ‘The Sleepbus’. The service offers nightly non-stop trips between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The price of ticket is $48 each way.
If you are willing to travel from LA you could catch the bus at the Santa Monica Pier North parking lot. After you have some sleep the bus will unload you at the King Caltrain, San Francisco Station. If you wonder what it takes to get to SF – $48 for the ticket, catch the bus at 11 pm from LA, arrive at SF by 6 am the following morning. Simple as that. You get a private pod with a twin bed with a privacy curtain, of course, a reading light, outlet and deluxe sheets. There is tea, coffee, snacks and WiFi onboard available during the travel. The founders are planning to buy a fleet of buses once the idea catches on. Now there is only one sleeper coach bus for the pilot run.
The current bus is with a capacity of 20 passengers. When they launched Sleepbus they gave two rides – one from LA to SF and one from SF to LA.
