Meet The Winner Of The Peach City Beach Cruise Show – Custom Built 1965 Chevrolet COE Tourliner
Cab Over Engine (COE) or just cab-over is a a body-style of a vehicle. It could be a van, bus or even truck. You could easily recognize such vehicles by the type of the cab. The style is known as a ‘flat face’ – the cabin is just sitting above the front axle. Usually the cabin is sitting behind the front axle and the engine is mounted above the axle in front of the cab of the truck. The design was born in Europe and Japan because of the strict overall truck length. In this case because of the short cabin, the truck manufacturers allow longer trailers.
In the United States of America the style was also very popular. There were a lot of strict length laws in many states. Later all those length laws were repealed. Right after the laws were gone, most of the truck manufactures moved to other body styles. Currently we could find a lot of trucks in the light- and medium-duty truck segment having this ‘flat face’ body style. Now we are going to see which vehicle was the winner of the 2011 Peach City Beach Cruise Show. Meet the futuristic RV – 1954 Chevrolet COE Tourliner.
