Super Throwback – Big Chief, AZN And Daddy Dave Mustang Take on a H22 Honda In 1/8 Drag Race For Pink Slip!

This all happened at Speedworld Raceway Park in Surprise, Arizona. It was a battle between the Wide Open Throttle team and the Olympic Armor Coatings group. It was a domestic vs import drag race – that’s the best way to find out which car is better. In the end the winner takes the other ride – if you lose the race, you simply lose your ride. That’s it – let’s race. Kail Christensen is the guy who is going to be at the finish line and there are two PINK technical advisors – Nate Pritchett and Charles Hendrickson.

Both team travelled about 1000 miles to get to the track. It’s not going to be an easy race, so let’s see the car specifications. The right lane is reserved for the Wide Open Throttle team and its captain – Jeff ‘Asian’ Bonnett who is from Oklahoma City, OK. On the left side is the Olympic Armor Coatings team and its captain – Lee Forderer from Sequim, WA. As this is a real race both teams are supposed to sign that if they lose the race they will give their ride to the other team. Once everything is signed – let’s get it on.

Wide Open Throttle team brought a 1989 Ford Mustang with them. The Asian’s ride is equipped with a 355 CID small block Chevy engine, 750 CFM Holley 4bbl, N/X single stage Nitrous kit with 150 horsepower jetting, cast iron Vortec heads and 11:1 compression ratio.

Brandon’s ride features a 2.2-liter H22 DOHC VTEC JDM engine, 125 shot nitrous kit with progressive controller, coilover shocks, full slicks and a 10.6:1 compression ratio. The total power output here is exactly 325 horsepower.
